AFL is New Zealand's leading processor of paua products. In addition, through AFL's joint venture with Ocean Ranch (NZ) Limited, in Palmerston North, the Abalone division maintains a strong international presence.
It is a common characteristic of AFL to enter into successful joint ventures, and this philosophy is underpinned by our relationship with Ocean Ranch. Our joint venture is a long-established company that continues to have excellent long-term relationships with both suppliers and customers. Processing improvements have produced significant gains for Maori and AFL has more several major technical projects planned for the years ahead.
A successful addition has been the development of army ration packs for the Australian, British and New Zealand armed forces, allowing us to utilise processing expertise through this business to develop a successful supply of military rations.
